EPIC: When and how did you discover Pilates?
MONICA: My friend Gina recommended Pilates about a year ago.
E: What is the most notable change Pilates has made to your body?
M: I feel stronger! More awareness of posture and how to use my core in my everyday activities to help with balance, because being visually impaired, increased stability and equilibrium is very important.
E: What motivates you to maintain your Pilates routine?
M: I want to reach my goal of trail hiking/running and trying sport activities, such as cross-country and down hill skiing.
E: What is your preferred Pilates equipment?
M: The Cadillac!!
E: What is your favorite exercise on any equipment?
M: I like several, but I think the one that is most fun is the Hanging Pull-up series on the Cadillac (pictured) because it makes me feel strong, powerful and it’s fun! Reminds me of the way I used to play on the monkey bars as a child. 🙂
